Cerebellar stimulation for children is a system of physical exercises aimed at improving the functions of the cerebellum and basal ganglia – brain structures actively participating in the formation of speech and behavior of the child. It was developed based on the North American program “Learning Breakthrough”
DOES YOUR CHILD NEED THIS?
Recent decades studies have revealed that most children with speech and behavioral problems have disturbed functions of the cerebellum and basal ganglia. Sessions are prescribed to children with impaired coordination of movements, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorders, verbal and written disturbances, and problems with mastery of school skills.

HOW DOES IT HAPPEN?
The program is based on the exercises on the balance board of Dr. Belgau. Additionally, exercises with fit balls are used.
During physical exercises and active games under the guidance of a physical therapist, the child learns to understand the boundaries of own body and manage own movements. An important element of the session is the transition from performing exercises based on imitation or physical assistance to performing exercises based on verbal instruction.
During the sessions, the child develops motor planning – the ability to think through the sequence of own actions. This is necessary for mastering of any skills.
WHAT ARE THE RESULTS?
‘Learning Breakthrough’ program was created in the USA in the 1950s. The creator – Dr. Belgau – has noticed that when children perform balance exercises during the breaks, they become significantly more successful in all school classes.
WHAT IS THE NOVELTY AND DIFFERENCE FROM THE OTHERS?
“Neurological clinic of Dr. Yatsenko” uses combination of cerebellar stimulation with sensory developing techniques.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE?
It is required 3-4 sessions per week. The course consists of 10-15 30-minute sessions.
Children from 2 years old can have this therapy.
